Making Money with
Google
I am sure you have
heard how many people are making money using Google Adsense. There are
many, many ebooks online that will
(supposedly) help you generate HUGE amount of cash with Google every
month. Some of the ebooks may have merit to them, but for just
a few
minutes save your money and read the rest of this page since it is free.
Make Channels
I found it easier to
make channels for where I will be placing my adsense ads before I
actually build it. If I am going to put
it on my home page, then I can call the channel businnesshome home
page, for my affiliate page call it affiliate page, etc.. That way when
I
actually do start to create my listings, I can add that channel to it
and be able to track on which page the ad was clicked on. This helps
you
trace what pages are doing well and which pages you may need to: 1.
Change how the ad looks or 2. The content of the page to help with more
targeted ads.
Adsense for Content
When you sign up with
Google, and click on the adsense setup tab, you will see the different
ways to help you make money. Most
people start out with the adsense for content as that is very easy to
set up. Once you click on the link for adding the content you will get
the
Ad Unit or Link Unit. You may want to experiment with each one of these
on your website. Each of these (link or ad) you can customize as to how
it will look on your site or blog. Try to create the ad using the same
colors as your website.
Once your ads are on
your website, don't make massive changes to the look of the ads, but
change only one thing at a time to
see if you click rate changes; border vs. no border, place on side vs.
place towards top, etc. If you change to much at one time, you will not
be
able to see what was the reason that the click rate went up or down.
Adsense for Search
You can make money
with Google also by offering your visitors a search box. They can
search your domain or the web. If you have
a very large website or even not many pages, but a lot of content this
can pull double duty. Help keep people on your site or let them search
the
web. So don't overlook adding this additional adsense tool to your
website or blog.
Referrals
Believe it or not
there are still many people that have not signed up for Google adsense
yet. But this is not only for signing
up for their program, you can be making more money by referring your
visitors to useful products and services for other merchants as well.
Some
of the categories they have available are animals, automotive, games,
photo and video, recreation, science, social networks and online
communities, sports and many more.
Video
Units
You can ad relevant
video content from YouTube partners to your site. This may fit into
your blog or website better than the
text ads. Don't overlook this opportunity as many webmasters are using
more and more videos on their sites.
Mobile
Content
With the rise of
mobile units being used by people to access the Internet, it may be
something for you to check out to see if
instead of a regular website, but create a mobile website.
So before you open
your wallet and buy Google Cash or any of the other ebooks, sign up
with Google and go to the Resources tab.
Take a look at all the information available to you free. Try the tips,
suggestions and optimization tips for your website or blog. If after
some
time you really feel the urge to spend your money on one of the ebooks
for making money with Google, go ahead and hopefully it will be what
you
thought you were missing.
Alternate Ads
Do not forget that
using adsense if fine for websites, but sometimes one size does not fit
all. Take a look at other
alternate ads you can place on your site or blog to help you make
money online.
